What is Hair Exosomes?
Exosomes are nanometre-sized, membrane-bound vesicles secreted by almost every cell in the body. They carry signalling molecules such as growth factors, proteins, lipids and microRNAs and play a role in communication between cells.
Hair exosome therapy is the application of laboratory-derived products containing exosomes to the scalp. As an innovative method, it has entered the range of supportive treatment options for hair loss in recent years.
How does it work?
It is thought that the signals carried by exosomes may encourage resting hair follicles to enter the growth phase and support circulation and tissue repair in the scalp. The aim is to reduce hair loss and thicken the hair shafts.
Although scientific studies on exosome therapy are increasing rapidly, large, long-term clinical studies are still limited. That is why at our clinic exosomes are used after expectations have been discussed openly, in suitable people and usually as part of a hair treatment plan.
