What is Hair Treatments?
Hair is a living structure that continuously passes through growth, resting and shedding phases. Losing 50–100 hairs a day is normal. A clear increase in shedding, thinning hair or a receding hairline, however, may point to an underlying cause.
The most common types are androgenetic hair loss, caused by genetic and hormonal factors; telogen effluvium (diffuse shedding), seen after stress, illness, childbirth or strict dieting; and alopecia areata, which causes patchy hair loss. Each requires a different treatment approach.
How does it work?
Treatment is built on removing the cause and supporting the hair follicles. Deficiencies in values such as iron (ferritin), vitamin D, B12, zinc and thyroid hormones are identified and corrected; diet and stress management are planned.
To support the follicles directly, we use PRP, which contains growth factors from your own blood; hair mesotherapy, which delivers vitamins and active ingredients to the follicles; and exosome therapy, which carries signals between cells. Which methods are combined depends on the type and severity of the hair loss.
When is it used?
- Increased hair shedding
- Thinning hair and loss of volume
- Female and male pattern (androgenetic) hair loss
- Hair loss after childbirth, illness, stress or dieting
- Supporting hair quality before and after a hair transplant
How is it done?
- 1Assessment of your hair loss history and scalp.
- 2Investigating the cause with the necessary blood tests (iron, vitamins, thyroid, etc.).
- 3A personalised treatment plan: PRP, mesotherapy, exosomes and supportive advice.
- 4Regular follow-up with photographs.
- Note any illness, surgery, childbirth, weight loss or change in medication in the last 6 months.
- Bring recent blood test results if you have them; otherwise the necessary tests are requested at the first consultation.
- Before PRP, eat a light meal and drink plenty of water; mention any blood thinners.
- The hair and scalp are assessed; standard photographs are taken for follow-up.
- A treatment plan is created according to the blood test results.
- For PRP, a small amount of blood is taken from your arm and separated in special tubes; for mesotherapy or exosomes, the product is prepared.
- The scalp is treated with fine needles; the procedure takes 30–45 minutes.
- On the day of treatment, avoid washing your hair, wearing a hat and touching the area.
- Avoid intense exercise, saunas and steam rooms for 24–48 hours.
- Use the recommended supplements and home care products regularly.
- Keep to the session intervals; because the hair cycle is slow, patience is important.
Possible side effects
- Tenderness of the scalp during and after treatment
- Temporary redness, mild swelling or small bruises
- Rarely a temporary increase in shedding lasting a few weeks after treatment
- Very rarely infection
Who is it not suitable for?
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding (for some treatments)
- Active infection or wounds on the scalp
- Blood disorders and use of blood thinners (after medical assessment for PRP)
- During active cancer treatment
